The definition of “gross income” is all money and non-cash benefits available from all sources to cover living expenses, both taxable and non-taxable, before deductions. The gross income for everyone living in the home combined is the “gross household income.” Examples of income documentation include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Paycheck stubs
• Statements of benefits or award:
  • Social Security/Disability
  • TANF
  • Child/spousal support award
  • Veteran benefits
  • Unemployment, etc.
• Proof of pension or retirement income
• Written statement of self-employment income
• Written statement including details of any additional cash income
• If no income, a written statement detailing how the household is sustained financially and essentials, such as food and housing, are provided.
